Roger Federer won the 2006 US Open

Last week Roger Federer, the best player of the world, defeated Andy Roddick, the 9th player of the world(recently 6th because of his results in this tournament), in the final of the US Open in New York, U.S. The stats where 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. It's the third time in a row Federer wons the US Open. There was a surprise in the US Open, In 3rd round Mikaihl Youznhy defeated Rafael Nadal. Youznhy was then defeated by Andy Roddick in Cuarterfinals.

Meanwhile Maria Sharapova, the third best player of the world, defeated Justine Hennin-Hardenne. The stats where 6-4, 6-4, This is Sharapova's 2nd US Open. Hennin-Hardenne is the only tennist player that has been 4 times in a row in the US Open final.
